No, we do not charge any extra fees or fuel surcharges. The listed price is the price you pay (including tax). However, there is a single supplement.

Our treks do not include airfares, the single supplement and travel insurance.  It is important to note that your own full travel insurance cover is mandatory for the entire period of your Adventure Camino trek.

Preparation

There are no vaccinations required, however, we recommend a Tetanus shot before travelling.

We highly recommend hiking pole or bourdon to provide extra stability and balance and to reduce the risk of falls, wear and tear on joints and back pain as the pole promotes better posture. Helinox’s Australian Bushwalker’s Guide to Trekking Poles is free and provides great information on correct grip, what to looking for when selecting a pole, etc.

A Pilgrim’s Passport or Credencial enables you to stay at Albergues and receive discounted admission into cathedrals and other places of interest on your journey along The Camino de Santiago. Your Pilgrim’s Passport is included as part of each of our Treks and will be provided by Adventure Camino.

Under the Schengen Convention, Australian citizens intending to travel to any Schengen country, which includes Spain, France and Portugal, for a holiday or business, are authorised to stay in the Schengen zone for a maximum total of 90 days, without a visa, during any six month period. After spending 90 days in the Schengen countries, travellers are required to remain out of the Schengen area for a period of at least 180 days before they can re-enter.

Wear whatever is comfortable. It is recommended to have a sturdy pair of broken-in trail shoes, boots or sneakers. It is preferable to dress in layers and wear clothing that will wick away perspiration and keep you dry and comfortable.

We recommend you bring one bag (preferably a backpack), which will be transported by Adventure Camino each day to the next destination. Additionally, you should bring a day pack for you to carry on your trek each day for your personal effects such as a warm top or jacket, sunscreen, snacks and water and first aid. There is a one bag limit of 15kg max for our luggage transfer. Additional bags will be charged a separate fee.

Reservation

Cancelled bookings can incur up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced.  We must receive cancellations in writing to Adventure Camino.

Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all treks. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable.

Weather

We do hike in the rain, snow, wind and any other weather conditions that nature decides to throw at us. After all, we’re going on adventures! If the weather is unsafe for any reason, the trip will be changed or postponed. You will be notified the week of your trip if there are changes due to weather.
